The Friends of the Dome, in conjunction with Pembrey Mountain Trust put a stand together and presented the project at the recent RCAHMW Digital Past Conference in Newport. This is a 2 day conference the promotes the use of digital technologies to explain a heritage asset. Bringing together individuals from the commercial, public, academic, third sector and voluntary sectors, the conference aims to promote learning, discussion and debate around a range of digital technologies in current use, or in development, to record and understand the historic environment. Delegates will be offered a combination of presentations and hands-on workshops and demonstrations in a friendly and informal atmosphere that aims to promote networking and exchange of ideas. For information on confirmed speakers please go to our Alongside the technologies themselves, a wide range of projects were presented including the Dome, The Newport Ship, Archaeology in Afghanistan. While we enjoyed the presentations, we were able to promote the Dome project to a number of interested parties, both individuals, and the professional heritage community. Our presentation on day 1 was as part of a concurrent session, with presentations being given in 3 separate rooms, was well attended, with approximately one third of the delegates choosing to come and listen to us.
